Top 5 Anime Fights…at least MY Top 5

Okay, Okay, you guys may have seen a TON of these on the interwebs. But in the honor of yesterday being Yu Yu Hakasho 25th anniversary, I decided to re-watch the series. After I got through a few episodes, I got to thinking about other anime fights I’ve enjoyed over the years. Now my list may be different than some of yours but I don’t care. You gon get this Top 5 and be cool with it haha.

5. Mustang Vs. Lust

Okay, this wasn’t really a fight. Mustang literally BODIED Lust. Not in a nice way. She had previously attacked Mustang and Havoc to bleed out and die. Mustang wasn’t having it. He stopped the bleeding and came in to absolutely murk Lust. She didn’t have a chance to really retaliate and I loved every moment of it.

4. Mereum Vs. Netero

This was just an epic fight. Literally the strongest (protagonist) character we have seen on Hunter X Hunter versus the strongest bad guy. Netero was close to 100 years old and physically stronger than any Hunter we have seen in the series. And after watching the show, you definitely wanted to see him fight. Mereum was simply OP for no reason at all but that didn’t scare old man Netero.

3. Spike Vs. Vincent

This scene is brought to you from the Cowboy Bebop movie which was a masterpiece much like the series. This fight is also one of the coolest hand to hand fight scenes I’ve seen (yeah I know there are better but this is MINE). If you have watched the Cowboy Bebop series then you know how Spike fights and how  he “flows like water”. Vincent is more than a match for Spike especially with him being okay with sacrificing his body to give himself an advantage. On top of being a great fight, it’s visually stunning. No matter what though, Spike is a beast. Don’t debate me.

2. Obito Vs. Kakashi

When I first saw this fight, I didn’t know it was what I wanted to see. We had already seen the first fight between Naruto and Sasuke who were friends, but seeing the fight between Kakashi and Obito was a completely different thing. Obito literally gave Kakashi his Sharingan before he died. They had always been rivals as kids on the same team and had fought plenty of times. But this time was different. This time Obito was fighting to bring about the ideals of Madara and replace the current world AND he was mad at Kakashi for killing Rin. This scene, with mixing the present and past fighting scenes was one of the major highlights of the Fourth Ninja War.

1. Hiei Vs. Bui

Not only is this one of my FAVORITE anime series of all-time, it’s one of my favorite characters as well. To say Hiei showed off in this fight is an understatement. Let me break it down a little bit. Hiei had learned to control the Mortal(Living) flame but had not completely controlled the Darkness Flame (or so we thought). This man toyed with Bui and then released the Dragon (see what I did there?) and made Bui think that Hiei had destroyed himself. Homie came back, let Bui toss him around and Hiei murked him with a flick of the wrist. On top of that, the animation for this episode had to cost a grip in 1992 because that Dragon alone was beautiful! By far my favorite anime fight.
