Let me start off by saying that I am pissed at myself for not planning to stay in San Diego when I was there for work. I was in San Diego the day it ended so I took the week to digest (and work) so I want to share my thoughts with you guys.
I’m going to try and cover as much as I can but don’t want this to be too long so I will highlight a little of everything while focusing on some stuff I am excited for. I won’t cover the Marvel reveals until later this week…those I have a little more to say about!
Trailers, Trailers….and Trailers!
As expected, SDCC brings out the trailers for movies we are waiting for or didn’t know we needed yet.
It: Chapter Two (Movie)
Now, I didn’t see the first remake since I’ve seen the originals. Wasn’t too fond of those and wasn’t too fond of seeing the newer ones. Not to say that their bad movies…they just aren’t my type of movies. But the final trailer released Day of SDCC looks pretty damn interesting which makes me want to actually see this one. And the guy that used to be the Old Spice guy is in it so now I want to see if he can really act lol.
His Dark Materials (HBO)
Now this is something I’m excited for. If your a fan of the movie “The Golden Compass” then you will love that they are adapting that world into a series. I love the fact that they are exploring this world a bit more. This series is being made possible by a collaboration between HBO and BBC. Also, James McAvoy putting that work isn’t he?
Cats (Movie)
I’ve seen the play and slightly enjoyed it. I’ve never thought about it being a movie though. And honestly…this trailer creeped me the hell out. It’s almost as if they are tempting me to not see it while still being intrigued to see it. Actually just watch it for yourself.
Ducktales: Season 2 (TV)
At the end of the day, I’m a big kid and I’m unashamed of that fact. I enjoyed the original Ducktales series and have been loving this reimaging of this classic show. Every chance I get, I try to catch it on Disney XD or on demand. I really am a big kid at heart so I’m excited to learn more about the duck family.

The Expanse: Season 4 (TV)
I’m not going to lie here…I had stopped watching this show after season 2. Not because it was bad (because I love it) but because I watching other shows and the SyFy channel was no longer on my usual TV schedule…you can blame VRV and Netflix for that. Recently I found out that VRV has the first 3 seasons on their app so I will be binging this before this season comes out. This will also be the last season of The Expanse so if you haven’t seen it or are interested, catch it before the last season releases! The Expanse season 4 will be premiering on Amazon Prime.
Snow Piercer (TV)
To end this post, I will go with a TV series that I am very excited for. I’ve seen the movie Snow Piercer a few times but only finished it a month ago. It would always come on randomly and I would catch bits and pieces while waiting for another show to come on. Danyi reminded me that the movie was on Netflix so I made sure to finish it. And I loved it and wanted to know more which makes me that much more excited about this series. I may or may not try to talk Danyi in reviewing this when it comes out (may not need TOO much convincing lol.)
I know I missed a lot (will do a separate post for Marvel) but these are some of the trailers I was excited to see last week. Besides these and Marvel, what shows, comics or other things were you excited about during SDCC? Let us know in the comments! Until next time people, Nerd Out!
