Doesn’t everyone want to be a hero when they grow up? I know you’ve dreamed about waking up tomorrow with the ability to fly or have super strength (you pervs wanted X-ray vision…ya nasties). But almost everyone has thought of this at least once growing. I know a lot of us didn’t like school too much…but would you have gone to school if you were able to hone your superhero skills in a school setting and be recruited to be a hero? This is basically the premise of “My Hero Academia”. This anime follows the main character, Izuku Midoriya (Deku) who is originally Quirkless (without superpowers). He idolizes All-Might, who is known as the #1 Hero in the world. After Midoriya saves the life of his childhood friend, Katsuki Bakugo (who kind of hates him), he catches the attention of All-Might. All-Might then bestows the power of All-Might to Deku so that he can carry on the legacy of All-Might. This allows Deku to be enrolled into the hero academy where he begins his journey to become a hero.
I have been enjoying watching this anime. It’s fun and engaging. It also has great character development along with great action scenes. The story is pretty linear and interesting with the usual anime obscurity. I recommend this series for anyone looking to fill some time on their weekend. They are now on season 2 which is Simulcast on Crunchyroll and Funimation at 3:30am MST. Check it out and enjoy! See you next time! As always, Nerd out!
