DaMisfit Favorite Game Couple
Welcome back Blerders and Nerders! Are you following along with me and @thatcartoonist ‘s challenge? His are on YouTube (Look for his posts, links inside!) I’ll be starting my podcast sometime soon so look forward to that! Today’s subject is favorite game couple. To be honest, I never really focused on the couples in video games. Yeah, it’s a cool dynamic that sometimes helps the story along but for the most part, doesn’t really interest me. So for today’s challenge I decided to think about game couples that I actually paid attention to and came up with one.
Nathan and Elena (Uncharted series)
The first thing you should know is that Elena is NOT a damsel in distress. She’s one of the reasons Drake survived most of the crap he’s been through. Initially, Drake used her show at the time to fund his hunt for Francis Drake’s Coffin (his supposed ancestor) and then ended up abandoning her as she was on the phone with her producers. She then went on to follow him to El Dorado and ultimately saves him there. Through the 4 games, she ends up saving him more than once. What makes them one of my favorite couples is mainly because of Elena. She’s not your typical video game damsel in distress. She’s very much her own person while matching Drake step for step. Drake has an insatiable sense of adventure and Elena is the one that encourages him to continue that pursuit.
