Favorite Male Anime Character Ever
Back at it with another one Blerders and Nerders! I hope you are enjoying the challenge so far. Feel free to join in by commenting below or on our twitter page! Today’s theme is an easy one. While there are quite a few male anime characters I could call my favorite, there is only one that resonates with me the most. And that is none other than Spike Spiegel. He is by far my favorite character and he happens to be from my favorite anime of all time.
Spike Spiegel is one of the coolest characters ever to grace the animated screen. nonchalant, strong and flows like water. As “chill” as he was, he had a strong moral compass which helped the crew more than once. Who else can fight enemies while jazz plays in the background and basically beat them almost on beat? Exactly. Spike is your favorite character’s favorite character and the over all anime he’s in is a bonafide classic. Personally, Spike is the epitome of cool and strength. Yes I like other characters but Spike will always be my absolute favorite.
He practices Jeet Kun Do…which is the martial art that the great Bruce Lee practiced…along with his “Like water” philosophy. Though he doesn’t show it, Spike has a good heart and would never admit how much he cares for the things he hates (kids, dogs and women with attitudes). He’s the complex character that got me to appreciate complex anime characters.
Who’s your favorite male Anime character? Do you have more than one? Let us know in the comments and follow us on Twitter! Until next time, Nerd Out!
My favorite male anime protagonist is Yugo Beppu from Yugo the Negotiator. He’s one of the most atypical anime heroes since he doesn’t use violence, but his wit to save hostages around the world. I like how he’s able to get through some crazy situations, be tortured, yet has an iron willpower. Yugo is portrayed in a way where his intellect is a primary character trait and STILL comes off as masculine which is a rarity in any media.
I have to add that to my watch list. I haven’t heard of that anime but he sounds interesting
Sure thing. Yugo is such an underrated series. It’s only a 13 episode series. I do admit the dub has better voice acting and corrects some geographical mistakes the Japanese version made.
